Obi-Wan

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.

This fall has gotten away from me (I swear, yesterday it was July). I don’t know how we’re at the end of October already. I’ve been so busy that I figured I’d bypass the Halloween costume this year until I was on a conference call on Thursday, someone mentioned Halloween, and one of my loyal readers chimed in with, “Angela, what are you making this year?”

Oh boy. Way to throw down the gauntlet, Audrey. By the end of the call, I knew I was going to have to whip something up this weekend, and so I settled on Obi-Wan. I needed something to keep me warm, since my Halloween protocol is to sit outside in my garage and it’s been getting cold lately.

I settled on a fleece cloak and a flannel tunic, using Simplicity pattern 5840. Ordered a new light saber from Amazon. The light saber came in a two pack - one blue and one green, so I can switch over to Luke (circa Return of the Jedi) or Yoda. Whatever suits my fancy, I suppose!

So here’s the deal. I wouldn’t normally choose brown. Black is my go-to color, but since I’m a Jedi and not a Sith lord, I need to go with the proper color scheme. But…I fully plan to wear this thing, like a LOT.

It’s basically a snuggie (or snuggy, whatever the hell those wearable blanket things are called). As I was making this, I was having visions of me snuggled up in this thing on my couch, fireplace going, dozing off…I’m here for that. Or, I might even wear it while I work (don’t worry, I work from home so no one can see me). This is so happening.

And here it is. Full on Jedi. These aren’t the droids you’re looking for. Move along.

The light saber even makes sounds…
